On the 1st of March 2022 we were planning to announce the Russian Art Focus Prize, our second award in the field of art journalism. In the light of the current situation of the war conflict in Ukraine we certainly put this project on hold, hope for peace and an end to the hostilities.
We believe that we must carry on despite or perhaps of the tragic circumstances, we must prevail in such dark times. The purpose of the Russian Art Focus has always been to make contemporary art from Russia and CIS visible and notable for the international audience for we have always considered that it is a part of the global context. We also published numerous materials on the contemporary Ukranian art and photography, and we will go on doing that indeed.
We hope that soon we will be able to reopen this project for we believe in art as the universal language.
Most importantly, we pray for immediate reconciliation and peace in Ukraine.
